Luncheon Registration Process
We are hopeful that you will be able to join us for each and every luncheon this year. Beginning October 2024, in a continued effort to enhance planning for our events and to maintain a positive working relationship with Patton Hall, we are better defining our registration process for the upcoming year. Please make note of the updated registration guidelines below.
Registration for all luncheons will end at midnight the Friday before our Thursday luncheon. Members will be charged the normal $35 fee.
Late registrations received on the weekend, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and ending at midnight on Sunday, will still be guaranteed a reserved seat for Thursday’s event at a cost of $40.
Cancelations must be requested through reservations@armyspousesclub.org by midnight the Sunday before the luncheon to receive a refund.
The same timelines and fees will be applied to any visitors accompanying members. We will purchase a meal for everyone with permanent reservations unless we are notified that they will not be able to attend.
As always, please mark your calendars for the Army Spouses Club every third Thursday of the month. In order to take advantage of the $35 luncheon fee, be sure to register promptly when you receive your luncheon notification.
The Army Spouses’ Club of the Greater Washington Area (ASCGWA) is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Our mission is to support and promote socio-economic and educational outreach for Soldiers, their Families, and Department of the Army (DA) Civilians in the National Capital Region (NCR). We also aim to foster connections among our members and support organizations that benefit Soldiers.
We take pride in our heritage, celebrate our diversity, and look forward to a bright future! Our club offers numerous opportunities to reconnect with old friends and make new ones through monthly luncheons, tours, volunteer and fundraising events, and other social activities. The DC area has so much to offer, and we invite you to explore it with us. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Our members reside throughout the Washington D.C. metro area, including Maryland and Virginia, with many living near Joint Base Fort Myer-Henderson Hall, Fort McNair, and Fort Belvoir. We hope you’ll join us. To become a member, please visit our membership page.
Membership
Membership is open to Spouses of U.S. Army and other Military Services members who are active duty, in the Reserve Components, National Guard, retired from active duty or reserve component duty, and those separated from service who retain eligibility for family member and DA Civilian ID rights and privileges. Additionally, membership is available to Spouses of accredited Military Attaches and Assistant Attaches assigned to embassies in Washington DC, Spouses of foreign military members assigned to duties in the National Capital Region, Spouses of the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Arlington National Cemetery during their sponsor’s tenure, designated Honorary members, and other individuals approved by the President.
Army Spouses' Club membership dues are $45 per year. This fee grants access to reservations for our monthly luncheons, the digital Backchannels monthly newsletter, various club-sponsored activities and special programs, an invitation to the annual Joint Armed Forces of Washington Luncheon (JAFOWL), and our digital membership directory. Eligible individuals may attend one function as a guest before joining as a member to continue participating.
A Note from The Army Spouses' Club President ...
Hello, I’m Connie, and I am honored to serve as your President for the 2024-2025 Army Spouses’ Club year. Having been a member since 2013, I have a deep love for this organization. Here are just a few reasons why I hope you’ll join us, whether you’re a returning member or considering your first-year membership.
As a member of the Army Spouses’ Club, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other military spouses in the Greater Washington Area. You’ll make new friends, whether you’re new to the community or have been here for a while. We also offer Associate Membership for spouses from other military branches. We share so much in common and are proud to stand together in service to our nation. We promise to welcome you with open arms.
Our social scene is vibrant and engaging. We meet on the third Thursday of every month for luncheons featuring entertaining programs and speakers. We also have smaller group options:
Zip Code Groups: Connect with neighbors and share local tips on restaurants, shopping, and events.
Special Tours: Monthly tours of museums, historic homes, seasonal events, day trips, and more. Our Christmas White House Tours are particularly popular!
Craft Classes: The techniques are new and unique each time with no long-term commitment. You may need to invest a small amount in supplies or it’s possible our instructors might provide the items for a small fee It’s a great way to try something new and different - all hands-on!
Affinity Clubs: Monthly meetings for those with shared interests. Whether it’s a Book Club, Happy Hour Group, BUNCO, Cooking Group, Hiking, Bible Study, Stroller Brigade, movie outings, or tea gatherings, there’s something for everyone. If you don’t see a group that fits your interests, consider starting one!
We also welcome International Military Spouses, allowing us to learn about different cultures and lifestyles.
One of our most cherished events is the Joint Armed Forces of Washington Luncheon (JAFOWL), held in partnership with spouse clubs from the Air Force, Space Force, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard. Since 1977, this luncheon has connected, inspired, and empowered Military Spouses, featuring guest speakers like Michelle Obama, George Bush, and Jill Biden.
I’m excited for you to join us at our first event of the 2024-2025 year, the annual Welcome Social on September 19. Join now and watch your email for details on this and other exciting activities throughout the year.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
Warmly,
Connie

As the Army Spouses’ Club, we are proud of our heritage, inspired by our diversity, and excited about our future!
We make it easy to connect with old friends and make new ones through a wide array of activities, including monthly luncheons,
tours, volunteer opportunities, and other social functions.
I agree that when attending and/or participating in an event organized by the Army Spouses’ Club of the Greater Washington Area (ASCGWA), I do so at my own risk.
In addition, I will use good judgement, obey all laws, and take care to avoid any injury to myself, others, or property, and will not hold ASCGWA responsible for any mishaps.
